Hockey Discipleship Training School (Hockey DTS) is for hockey players, young men*, age 18 - 25, who have significant ice hockey experience (minimum 5 years) playing organized hockey, and possess good skating and hockey skills.

*Please Note: If there is significant interest in a Women's Hockey DTS, we would consider a seperate "women's stream" in the DTS.

Hockey DTS is a 11 - 12 week lecture/training phase
where you will be encouraged in your personal character development, cultivate a living relationship with God and identify your unique gifts and calling.

Hockey DTS students will participate in an 8 - 10 week cross cultural outreach, in Russia, and possibly East Asia - coaching and playing hockey.

The 5 primary areas of DTS are:
     
God's nature and character
God's intention for individuals, peoples, and creation
God's redemption: sin and the cross
God's family: His children and His church
God's world: His call and His commission

Hockey DTS is a time of making new friends as students live and learn in community.

During the 12 week lecture/training phase of Hockey DTS, students will be on the ice 2 or 3 times weekly, and one dry-land each week, plus 2 sessions each week for hockey related off ice instruction. These hockey sessions will be used to bring Hockey DTS students together as a team and to prepare a complete hockey skills camp that will be used for the 8 week cross/cultural outreach. The outreach hockey camps will focus on kids and teens while the hockey games will be against men.

Outreach locations will target hockey playing nations. Our intention for the outreach is to proclaim the Gospel through hockey and that students also will have opportunities to minister in different settings such as universities, hospitals, orphanages and community centres.

Costs & Locations*:

          Lecture Phase: Vancouver BC - $4475 CDN + $30 application fee
          Outreach Phase: Russia and possibly East Asia - $3000-$3500 plus airfare CDN
